And I always say the same. Visual experience. One of the most important senses we, human beings, have is the vision. Perhaps the most important one (that´s arguable though. And it´s definetly something a blind person would disagree with ).
We are much more likely to remember things (brands for instance) when we see them. That´s what psychologists call photographic memory.
Apply that to marketing and BOOM! All of a sudden (if you do it well) you´ll be getting much more viewers to your content or brand.
Not only we have platforms like Instagram and Pinterest but, the bigger networks also have turned a lot more visual than they were a year ago.
The most common questions this year had to do with how a brand/business can also leverage the visual web, be part of the stream and get love from users.
But you don´t have to believe me. Check it out yourself by trying this:
First, post an article about any topic in your blog (company blog or personal blog). Don´t put any pictures in it. Then promote it in Twitter and Facebook, like always.
Now, make an infographic with the same content of that blogpost you already wrote. Then promote it in Twitter and Facebook, like always.
Now compare the amount of viewers each one had. I can garantee you that the the infographic will drive much more traffic.
So, going back to the initial question. I think 2013 is the year when content and visual marketing will consolidate as one of the most effective marketing techniques.
In this Infographic, Socially Sorted goes over how the shift developed and 6 tips brands and small businesses can follow to help become more visual.
