Who are you (company) and how long have you been around?
We’re Claromentis and we have been providing intranet software to organisations on a global basis for over a decade.
What does your product do?
We provide a complete intranet platform with business, collaborative and social applications. Our intranet software offers departments and employees all of the tools necessary to promote collaboration, increase productivity and enhance learning. From communicating on a secure project space to completing a holiday request – we’ve got you covered. We have also quite recently introduced a Learning Management System and Social Project Management app (to name just a few) to our product – our intranet software is one of the most comprehensive in terms of functionality.
What makes you unique in this industry that I am not able to get with other vendors?
• Social, collaborative and business applications in one intranet platform
• The ability to add a Learning Management System as an additional module to the intranet
• Create an unlimited number of e-Forms and workflows using the BPM module; our customers have built custom e-forms to fulfil important business processes such as an appraisal process, help desk and purchase order requests etc.
• Our intranet profiles application integrates with the world’s leading social networking sites – Twitter, Skype, Google+ and LinkedIn
• The Document Management System integrates with Google Docs
• Organisations can configure how ‘social’ they’d like their intranet to be and continuously customise this to suit their evolving business needs
• A single web platform that can integrate with third-party applications and offer a seamless experience to end-users through Single Sign On (SSO)
• The ability to build upon our framework to create custom applications (either in-house or in partnership with Claromentis) and take advantage of our tried-and-tested rapid prototyping methodology
• We build beautiful, intuitive intranet designs (completely bespoke) to suit each organisation’s needs and preferences
Who are your 3 main competitors?
SharePoint is our main competitor, however most organisations that get in touch with us are aware of the complexities associated with this system and require an alternative.
Which are your existing customers?
A large percentage of our customers are based in the US Australia and UK. We have many customers situated within the financial sector due to the robust, built-in security we provide.
Our clients include:
Tucson Electric Power
Citizens Equity First Credit Union

University of California, San Francisco

Chief Fire Officers Association
Is it possible to customize the environment?
Absolutely, our intranet designs are completely custom built meaning that we can create a unique intranet design that correlates with each organisation’s branding guidelines and preferences. We also have a REST API that enables our customers to extend their intranet platform with bespoke functionality and applications. We also have an internal custom development team that focuses on building custom applications for our customers.
What do you bring to the table in terms of top benefits versus us simply implementing it ourselves?
We’ve been developing our intranet software for fifteen years and we have a team dedicated to continuously extending it with new features, applications and enhancements. Customers can additionally extend our intranet software with custom functionality through our REST API, if required (as stated above).
Are there any differences between hosted and on-premise versions of the software?
The only difference is that our team will take care of hosting, backups and upgrades with the cloud hosted solution.
Who owns the data we’ll share on the platform, you or us?
Can we monitor and track usage?
Yes, we offer an Intranet Analytics application along with the ability to view audit logs.
How can I get my data out at the end of our relationship?
It can be exported.
What are your best practice approaches to gaining adoption of your product?
First, a phased approach to the intranet’s launch will help to gain employee buy-in and increase user-adoption as new applications and functionality will be rolled out in a systematic and manageable manner for the end-users. It’s always great, from an end-user’s perspective, to introduce new functionality after the initial launch as it continues the ‘just-launched’ momentum.
Ensure you’ve received support from the management team – their endorsement is very important to increasing adoption.
A beautiful, user-centric intranet homepage design is a key component to gaining user-adoption, in essence, it’s the starting point for many new employees so putting in the time and effort to make it both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly will pay off.
Social Elements – as much as we love social intranet tools, not all organisations are at a stage to fully embrace them, it may be necessary to slowly introduce social elements over a specific time period to ensure that it doesn’t overwhelm users.
Which languages does your product support?
Our system can be translated to support any language.
What kind of support can we expect from you after implementing your product in our organization?
We offer a customer support portal, on-going email & telephone support and a ticketing system with SLAs in place to ensure a rapid response.
Do you have a community of customers that we can participate in to share experiences and approaches?
We have a customer support community and experiences are shared on our website’s blog and social networking channels.
What is the model for upgrades and releases?
We release approximately three major releases each year – upgrades are covered in either the monthly cost for cloud hosting or the support and maintenance fee for in-house deployments.
What is your pricing model?
Our cost is based on the number of users and deployment preference i.e. on-premise or cloud-based. If you fill in our pricing form on our website (http://www.claromentis.com ) we’ll generate a quote for you
Is there something else you would like our readers to know about you?
We worked in partnership with our customer The Chief Fire Officers Association to provide a safe and secure London 2012 Olympics through the development of an incident reporting application using our intranet framework. It was very exciting indeed!
